Dr. Ashley Robertson

I decided to pursue veterinary medicine because of the special connection I felt with animals from a young age. As a child, some of my favorite activities included riding horses, nursing injured and orphaned wildlife to health, and helping animals find their perfect home. Veterinary medicine was a natural path for me.

I graduated from Appalachian State University and earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, I joined a large 24-hour veterinary hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina. During this time, I discovered my passion for emergency and critical care medicine and enjoyed my role as the Director of Emergency Services for five years.

I moved back to my hometown of Chapel Hill and embraced a different approach to helping dogs and cats with preventive medicine, dentistry, and surgery. In 2015 I opened Meadowmont Animal Hospital in Chapel Hill and have greatly enjoyed the relationships I develop with each patient, their families, and the surrounding community.

My veterinary interests include surgery, dentistry, and of course, emergencies.  My community interests include working with assistance dogs from Ears Eyes Nose Paws and supporting local animal rescue groups and shelters.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two Children.  I love gardening, hiking, listening to my husband play music, and teaching my kids to ride horses. We often visit family in the mountains and beaches of North Carolina.

Our family has a sweet Labrador retriever named Max from Ears Eyes Nose Paws, super stalker cat Nikki that we adopted from Orange County Animal Services, and an Boston terrier named Levi.

Dr. Max Gordon

Dr. Gordon grew up in New England but relocated to North Carolina after falling in love with the area during his internship training, originally starting out as a veterinary technician. He attended the University of Maryland for his bachelor’s degree in animal and avian sciences and Drexel University for his master’s in laboratory animal science. Dr. Gordon completed his veterinary training at Tufts University in Massachusetts. He jokes that his previous dog Calvin earned an honorary degree, as Calvin was always studying with him. During his training, he realized that he enjoyed treating pocket pets, lizards, and birds in addition to dogs and cats. As of 2025, Dr. Gordon has been working in the Veterinary field for 15 years! Outside of the pet clinic, you can find Dr. Gordon running, climbing, and spending time with his pup, Dexter. If Dr. Gordon was an animal, he would be a Norfolk terrier, Dexter of course being his spirit animal! He looks forward to helping you keep your critters happy and healthy!

Outside of the pet clinic, you can find Dr. Gordon running, climbing, and traveling in his spare time.

Anne attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Advertising. Anne spent the next twenty plus years working in advertising, sales, marketing and human resources up and down the east coast. She never knew she would be lucky enough to work in a veterinary hospital!

Outside of the animal clinic, Anne spends her time running, gardening and cooking for friends.

Samantha

Samantha was raised with a cat by her cradle! Originally from Rochester New York, then Asheboro, she now enjoys Durham. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill in 2023 with a Master’s in Public Policy, interested in animal rights. You can find Samantha greeting patients and paw-rents with a smile at the front desk! She has one furry friend at home, Squirt, a maltese mix. In her free time, Samantha likes to hike with her pup, paint, and critique movies. If Sam were an animal, she would be a golden retriever, sunny, and always happy to help! We’re so lucky to have had her a part of our team for almost two years!

Lydia

Lydia was born in Graham, but has lived all over the Piedmont area and now calls Mebane her home. She is a lifelong animal lover with a deep passion for all creatures, and has been in the animal care industry for 2 years. She shares her home with her 16 year old feline friend, Pawcchino Man Man (Pictured above) who she rescued from the street in August of 2024, and nursed back to health. Throughout her life, Lydia has cared for a variety of animals, including dogs (big and small), cats, bunnies, rats, and chickens. Outside of work, she enjoys attending animal-related events in the area, painting and sketching, reading, volunteering at local animal shelters, rehabilitating stray cats around her home, and spending quality time with her partner Jacob and Sassy Senior Pawcchino.

Lydia sees herself as a Dachshund—loyal and full of personality—though her family insists she’s a Chihuahua because of her sassy side!

Amber

Amber, originally from Chapel Hill, has continued to build her career in the veterinary field since 2003! Amber started off as a kennel technician, and has worked her way up to where she is now!

She worked in emergency, surgery and appointments at Triangle Veterinary Hospital for over 8 years before joining the MAH team. Outside of work, Amber is a dedicated mom and paw-rent! She has 2 cats, Sushi and Taki, 1 dog, Butters the pittie, and one bearded dragon, nicknamed Lizzie the Liz. Amber enjoys taking her children and fur-babies to parks, and hiking! If Amber were a dog, she would be a pittie, strong, and loving, just like Butters!

Cassidy

Cassidy was raised in the country of North Carolina around all types of animals, and knew she wanted nothing else but to care for them as she got older. Cassidy moved to Ohio in 2018 where she discovered her love for veterinary medicine, starting in the veterinary field at a local clinic. Now following her childhood dream, she has been working in the veterinary field for over 7 years. Her job follows her home to her 5 fur babies, and one scaly friend. She has four dogs, Misha, Maya, Margo and Nessie, 1 cat Lucy, and Gogurt (the gecko). We are almost 100% positive that this number will go up in the near future. Outside of work, Cassidy enjoys traveling, hiking, and spoiling her pets. If Cassidy was an animal, she would be a dachshund!

Debbie

Debbie started her journey in veterinary medicine in Cleveland Ohio, where she grew up. She has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years, and has been with us at MAH since 2023, talk about dedication! Debbie has a pack of her own at home, surrounded by her children, and two fur babies, Simon and Loki. Certified mom, paw-rent, and plant mom! Outside of work, Debbie enjoys art, running, and gardening. Occasionally she is joined by Simon in her garden, who tries his best to help! If Debbie were a dog, she would be an aussie. Intelligent, determined, and loyal.

Shelly

Shelly is the ultimate cool cat! She was born in Long Island, New York, and moved to North Carolina in 2008. She started in the veterinary field in 2013, and has been with MAH since 2020.

Shelly has one furry companion at home, a cat named Griffin, who is a menace, but sweet! Outside of work, Shelly likes to read, walk, and enjoy being a homebody, accompanied by Griffin. If she were an animal, you guessed it, she’d be a cat! Curious, and independent, just like Griffin!
